The sun rises a little slower here
It’s been coming over these mountains for thousands of years.
When time began their majestic blue peaks touched the sky
Through the many sunrises, and sunsets, they’re still there, tho not quite as high.
Many a bear and eagle, and illustrious trout have called these hills home
And once a proud nation of honorable Cherokees, until the white man forced them to roam.
The stories are endless as time itself can declare
You can feel the mysteries and legends as you listen to them speak through the clear mountain air.

From the foothills in Alabama along the eastern plain
They rise in majestic glory, from deep in the south to Katahdin in Maine.
Some call them smokies, and some the blue ridge range
These mountains, old as time, have fostered many names.
But it’s here, in these sacred appalachian’s where sky and earth are blessed
That God takes time from all his work, and upon these peaks, he rests….
